Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) ) on New Business Creation (NBC) for Skills Development Program graduates at National Institute of Zorig Chusum, Kawajangsa under Thimphu district has been organized by the Entrepreneurship and Promotion Division (EPD) under the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship(DoEE), Ministry of Labour and Human Resources (MoLHR). The program was conducted from 10th to 24th October, 2022 at National Institute of Zorig Chusum, Thimphu Dzongkhag to build entrepreneurial competencies among the participants.
There were 16 participants, all women, with various education backgrounds comprising of 10 class twelve graduates, 1 class ten graduates and 5 participants who haven’t been educated at all. Five business ideas were prepared and presented by the participants during the program in groups of five. The business ideas are as follow:
- Fun Recreation Room
- Multi-Tidy Shine
- Black Box Theatre
- Lungdar Production House
- NorYanDe
After vigorously training the participant on how to pursue entrepreneurship as a career choices and assisting them in writing business plan that can be submitted to financial institutions to obtain funding in the near future, they were well equipped with basic entrepreneurial knowledge. Business idea pitching was conducted with a panel of three judges considering fair evaluation based on ten judging criteria. The Entrepreneurship Promotion Division (EDP) under the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources (MoLHR) as a part of CSI Flagship program, conducted the Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) for 15 days to the Skills Development Program (SDP) graduates of Tailoring and Black Box Theatre. The closing ceremony of the program officially ended on 22nd October, 2022.
